"...and when the curtains parted, a saffron tinge illumined my face and before I could utter I could sense the magnanimity of the stage cut right across my heart. The usualness of life gleamed through my shadow that lay behind, and, as I stood on the stage, sparkling with light, I bore a different me..."
Theater is that art form which enables you to break conventionally woven shackles of formality, through a disciplined yet an unhindered expression of thoughts and ideas of a person. It lets you live the life of a character, as it would be in its creator's imagination. Unlimited by ideas, expanded by thought and experienced by physical expression, theater today forms an integral part of our ways of communication and entertainment. However, be it as it may, either for social causes or for general awareness, distinct and distant from the creator's own agenda, theater essentially remains an art to explore the reservoir of talent within. As Robert Brustein, rightly states, "The primary function of theater is not to please itself, or even to please its audience. It is to serve talent."
Recognizing the need for an open and free expression of thought through a different media, the Literary Society of Symbiosis Law School, Noida has decided to channel the abundant talent of its students by organizing a week long Theater Workshop fromMonday, July 29, 2013 till Sunday, August 04 2013. This workshop is open to students across all batches currently at the college. Also, persons conducting the workshop shall select students who will be later representing the college in all upcoming theatre fests including BITS, Goa and National Law School Theater Fest, Bangaluru.
