PERFECTLY MATCHED FRESHERS’ PARTY.....!!!

Someone has rightly said, ‘ In life you get what you deserve and  not what you desire and to be a winner one has to play the game, else he will be no one but a mere spectator’ but emotions certainly play an important role in everyone’s life. Such were my feelings when I bid adieu to my home. I was so sad that I even cried. But little did I know that my life was at SLS-Noida. I had no clue as to what was coming next. Stepped in a beautiful atrium with couches and coolers along with magazines to read, numerous stairs and of course, an unknown place with unknown people.............but this was my world.

I got to meet our Director Sir, must say ‘pizzazzz’ person. Cool, calm, strict and he definitely makes us all feel “comfortable”. It is true that I am not yet out of the hangover of the ice breaking session but yes a little better......thanks to whom..? Of course, our seniors! Someone has rightly said respect comes from within oneself and our seniors have really earned it. They have an aura which we usually don’t find in seniors.
We did not have to wait long for the “the freshers party.” Though theme was a bit awkward but the idea was innovative- “Mis-matched” an idea which made the party more colourful. We saw new fashion statements- few great, few bad, few really bad...(hehe). Seniors dressed up in traditional clothes (which gave us all a complex..hehe!) were pretty to watch.
Hanging tyres, decorated hall, arranged chairs, music console, and a platform for performances were all laid down beautifully.

The hard work is always visible and it was. The twelve groups that were made for the ice breaking session..........oh! I forgot, actually juniors were divided into twelve groups according to the months in which they were born and every group was supervised by a senior who helped us in preparing our acts that was to be performed on the party day. Few danced, few acted, few sang- yet the bottom-line was ‘fun.’ This was the Ice breaking session in which we rather broke the dance floor...courtesy.. “Suno Mr. DJ..,mera gaana please play..” Thanks to the DJ loud, hard rocking, which made us shout and yell...but....ssshhhhhhhh.......’Silence! The Court was in Session’ yes, a play that was performed by our seniors written by Vijay Tendulkar assisted by Shailja Ma’am, the seniors performed really well. A play with a mixture of humour and emotions depicting the oppression of a woman in a patriarchal society.....true there was a problem with the sound system which got interrupted in between for several times but when we get a whole cake as a treat there has to be some wastage, so never mind. The performance was terrific. Along with a play there was dance, singing, even solo performance by our seniors. Not to forget ‘Ringa Ringa’ which made all of us groove. Juniors performed equally well- few were good and few plays were ‘shaggy dog stay’ but when in party mood you definitely don’t get bored.
Lunch was also served to us...truly speaking the food was not as good as expected but it did fill up our empty stomach. Lunch was over and we got back to the party with full energy.
DJ...?????? Wait, i have got something more interesting than that....our beloved Salim Sir with his shayari flattered us....too good were they....he certainly has a good command over his words. But...but..but.......the lime light snatcher.....the show stopper..our lead hero was......... ‘well i will get back to this ’- yes, the one who always makes us feel comfortable....our very own Director Sir..’Wow!’ was the word which everyone said. Stunned were we to see him in a new avatar....what else do you want? A learned, brilliant, calm, cool, composed man who has the talent to sing as well. He has got em’ all. He described his college journey and his Symbiosis life through songs. He said “baatein kuch ankahin si”, shared his story and then he declared that “it’s time to party!” so we were on the floor and then there was “panga ” as “saare signal humne tod diye” to make that party “dhinka chika!”

Wooh! Party over but I wish the love that was showered on us never gets over. ”ek din aap humko yun mil jayenge…phool hi phool rahon mein khil jayenge...humne socha na tha.

In short, thank you SLS Noida, thank you Director Sir and last but not the least thank you our dear seniors.
